How Business Funding Works for Rexburg, ID Owners

Four steps: describe the need, gather the records, let a partner review, then compare and decide. Here is what each one involves.

In short

Skymont Lenders, a small-business funding service in Rexburg, ID, takes a request through four steps: a call about the purpose, a short list of records, a review by a funding partner, and a written offer you can compare or decline. The partner decides and sets the terms; you keep the final choice.

Who Does What

Skymont Lenders is a broker, not a lender. We do not lend our own money and we do not approve requests. Our part is to understand the purpose, pick the options that fit, and send the request to funding partners that offer those products. Skymont Lenders connects you with lending partners; partners make credit decisions and set rates and terms.

That split matters for one reason: the terms you see come from the partner, so the partner's written offer is the document to read.

Step 1: Say What the Money Is For

Call (208) 439-7565 or fill in the request form, which collects your full name, phone, email and company name (optional), along with three picks: time in business, annual revenue range and requested amount range. On the call we ask what the money pays for, when the bill is due, and how sales reach your account.

Step 2: Gather the Records (Business Loan Documents Checklist)

  • Business bank statements for the last several months
  • Business name, entity type and how long it has operated
  • Year-end figures or a profit-and-loss statement, if you have them
  • Every loan, lease and advance you already carry with their payments
  • For equipment: a quote or invoice describing the machine
  • For a project: a scope, estimate or contract

So what are the requirements for getting a business loan? There is no single list: each partner sets its own, and none publish fixed thresholds through us. The list above covers records partners may request.

Step 3: The Business Loan Underwriting Process

And what do lenders look for when applying for a business loan? Mostly whether the business can carry the payment. A partner reads deposits and balances in the bank statements, checks existing obligations, looks at credit, and weighs the purpose and any collateral. Some ask follow-up questions or for one more document.

How long a business loan takes to get turns on three things: the partner, the product and how complete the file is. We do not promise a timeline, and a complete file is the part you control.

Step 4: Line Up the Offers, Then Decide

Line up offers by total cost and by payment size, not by the headline number. A loan quotes an interest rate or APR; a merchant cash advance quotes a factor rate, which is not an interest rate. Add up every payment or remittance and divide by the amount you actually receive.

Questions to ask before getting a business loan: What is the total repaid? Who signs a personal guarantee, if anyone? Is a lien or UCC filing involved? What changes if I pay ahead of schedule? Are payments daily, weekly or monthly? Turning down an offer is always an option.

Warning Signs That Mean Walk Away

  • Anyone asking for money up front before you see a written offer
  • Pressure to sign the same day without reading the agreement
  • An offer that never states the total amount to be repaid
  • A new advance pitched to pay off an existing one without showing the combined cost

More options and costs: working capital, term loans, lines of credit, inventory financing. Quick answers are on the FAQ page, and the disclosures set out the partner arrangement.
